Top Tips for Wellbeing
August is National Wellness Month, which gives us the perfect opportunity to spend some time improving our mental health and overall wellbeing. Far too often, these aspects of health get pushed to the bottom of the priority list. This month, tend to your wellbeing so that you feel happier and more positive about your life. Here are some tips to get you started.
Keep it small and simplePart of working towards improved wellbeing is to accept where you are right now and give yourself the patience and understanding you deserve. Despite what the media portrays, no one is capable of feeling amazing all the time. Start small by noting down two things you want to include in your daily routine, whether it's drinking an extra glass of water or waking up 10 minutes earlier each morning. These small and simple actions turn into long-lasting improvements over time.
Keep activeYou may be tired of hearing this but it's true ' exercise isn't just something to do before the summer vacation. Exercise plays a huge role in our physical and mental health. Find a new exercise class you enjoy, join a new gym or simply walk to work instead of taking the bus to get in some steps. Find an exercise that works for you so you're more likely to stick at it.
Know when to relaxWe're all busy, and it can be hard to find time to unwind after a hard day. If you find it difficult to relax, carve out 10 minutes each day to focus on meditation or mindfulness. If you can, unwind before bed by reading or taking a bath. Catch up with friends if that is what relaxes you. Making time to relax is an important part of our mental health. How are you getting involved in National Wellness Month? Let us know! For all of your insurance needs this season,
